Schoolgirl Chic

I was very late to fashion. I went to a private Catholic high school, where we had to wear uniforms every day - there wasn't much fashion to be had outside of a plaid skirt and a navy blazer! You had to show your personality with things like socks, or extremely minimal additions to your blazer (i.e. all my Hard Rock Cafe pins, which I thought were VERY COOL back then). Truth be told, it made getting dressed in the morning very easy, and I loved my high school. But when I got to college I was leagues behind the rest of the girls. I guess there is still something comfortable for me about a pleated skirt and a blazer...

Hopefully I have taken the schoolgirl out of the outfit a bit; there isn't a bit of plaid to be found. And I kept the jacket a light cream color, since (while neither the leaves on the trees nor the temperature proclaims it) it is, ostensibly, spring.

And check out my beautiful birdie birthday earrings, from my dear friend, Adrianne. Thanks, Ades!!

I love your outfit! The cream blazer is definitely a classic, not too schoolgirl at all. Love the setting of your photos too.

    Thanks for following :)

You should try the pleated skirt! I think they are fun and flippy while still being a little conservative. And they are almost universally flattering!
