I am very serious about date night. Mr. TBF and I try to schedule one at least every other Friday, and I look forward to it all week. Usually, date night entails holing up for margaritas in the local joint down the street, then turning on a creepy sci-fi movie. But last Friday we really upped our game and scheduled an indulgent date night at the newest downtown hotel, The Godfrey Hotel Boston. Located in Downtown Crossing - right down the street from the Theatre District, Chinatown, Fort Point and Beacon Hill - The Godfrey is situated in two formerly empty buildings that The Godfrey has painstakingly (and elegantly) refurbished. Frankly, it's beautiful.
We settled in on Friday afternoon just in time for a couples massage booked through Soothe, the new-to-Boston app that delivers high-quality massage right to your door. It's so easy - you order the type of massage (swedish, deep tissue, sports, couples, pre-natal) and the therapist can be at your door in an hour. Soothe is available in many US and Canadian cities, and is surprisingly affordable for an in-home service, starting at $99, tip included. And! You can use code QFEBH and receive $30 off your first massage.
After our in-room massages, we headed out to Coppa, one of my favorite local spots, both for the delicious, easy-to-share food and cozy location. Come for the house-special negronis, stay for the charcuterie, octopus (always my favorite) and pasta. It's not unlikely that you'll meet Chef Jamie Bissonnette - one of the friendliest, most accessible chefs in the city (see also: Joanne Chang). P.S. I highly recommend his cookbook!
Back at The Godfrey, we settled into the ultra-soft Frette linens. With breakfast service and a very civilized check-out time of noon, it was easy to sleep in - something else about which I am very serious!
Shot on location at The Godfrey Hotel Boston (night spent c/o); DRESS: COS, BAG: Furla Dolce Vita (see also here) SHOES: Jeffrey Campbell, WATCH: Citizens via WatchCo, HAIR: Vidal Sassoon Boston (c/o, more to come on that!) Soothe massages: discount code provided - you can use code QFEBH for $30 off your first massage
