Acting Catty

Truman has decided, much to my chagrin, that I need to start waking up every morning at 5:00am. Yes, Truman is my feline companion (you can read about how he became such on my guest post on Good Girl Gone Blog). And much like Simon's cat, he has always been adamant about waking me up when it was time for breakfast. But in the past month or so, he's decided he wants his breakfast earlier and earlier. Is it an early sunrise? The fact that he's on a diet and doesn't get to gorge himself at dinner? These are mysteries only a cat can answer, all I know is that each morning I am awakened ever earlier, first by gentle nudges and purrs, and finally with insistent meows and even nibbling bites. The other day I woke to find him pulling the ponytail holder out of my hair with his teeth. He's a creative little bugger.

I've started throwing him out of the room in the mornings, but he has mastered the locking mechanism on the door and just opens it right back up again. How safe I feel locked in the bedroom, knowing that even a cat can open the door with minimal effort!

Anyway, after several bouts of me throwing Truman out / him bursting back in, this morning I gave up. As I fed him, and listened to his happy purrs as he shoved his face in his food (not a delicate eater, that one), I decided to pay homage to his persistence with my outfit. On went my cat print dress! It was later in the day when I realized the animal print on this dress is somewhat generic. Is it tiger? Zebra? Whatever it is, it's animal, just like the little beast with whom I share my apartment, and, increasingly, my morning hours.

Like the glowing eyes? The one with me is the infamous Truman. Clinton is on the table.

  3. Your cats are such cuties! What a clever little bugger Truman is! whatever the print on your dress is, it's fantastic! (And your sunglasses remind me so much of the new Prada ones - I'll have to venture to Urban Outfitters to find a similar pair!)

Thank you for all of the lovely birthday wishes :)

  4. Hahaha, you and I have synchronized kitties. My culprit is Maggie May, who thinks there is nothing better than sitting on my head at 5 am and purring. I mean, how can I be angry when she's so clearly happy?

    And you look very chic!

P.S. Took the trusty tripod out for the first shootings yesterday. Weird looks were had... photos going up tonight (hopefully!)

  6. Haha nice looks! 5:00AM? That is just plain insane.. My dog tries to wake me up sometimes that early and I usually just ignore him which is evil of me... He pays me back by urinating all over the place haha..

    All the best, Angel

  9. @Jaime @ la vie...j'aime I was obsessed with the initial necklace for so long, and finally Mr. BF bought it for me. I have to lie, I love it so much it is hard not to wear it every day. I'm glad someone else shares my love - and I love the style of the "J"!

  10. @Angel Garcia Why do we choose to let these creatures into our homes? Oh yeah, even if they are obnoxious, we love them. I am sure they think, "What is WRONG WITH THEM. Why won't they get up and feed me / let me out??"

  13. Cats are so funny! My parents' cat knows how to open doors and you're right - it's pretty unsettling.

  14. That is too cute! I miss my cats back home so much! Luckily they don't bother me when it's time to eat they go to my mom! But sometimes they'll come in my room in the middle of the night, busting the door open and I'll find them at the end of my bed in the morning. I miss having pets here. I've been thinking about getting some. I love this look, and I have one of those cardigans too, they "I can wear this anyway I want" cardigan in black
