Donating to Dress for Success Boston with Lexus

Lexus 2014 300 ES

Dress for Success Boston

Hello There! Long time, no blog. You might have noticed I took the past month off, for a couple of reasons: (1) Mr. TBF and I took a little tenth anniversary vacation (Hi Sweets! Love you!) and (2) I wanted to take some time to reflect on what's to come for TBF. After blogging for four and a half years, it was nice to look back on where TBF started (oof) and think about where it's heading.

You know I love writing about personal style and sharing outfits that - I hope - meet the aesthetic and challenges of living in Boston. I also enjoy sharing some New England (and not-so-New-England) travel experiences. And based on my statistics, you like those topics, too - so don't worry, more of that to come! But I also had a lot of fun writing some "different" posts in the past year - the Jump Start 2015 series for example, and the Boston Designer SpotlightsI'm not a "lifestyle" writer, and you're not going to see beauty how-to's or DIYs in this space - there are plenty of great blogs out there for that! But I hope to expand on the Boston Gal Experience, and I look forward to your feedback over the next few months.

And now onto the point of this post! As difficult as it is to say goodbye to warm weather and hello to fall (I am not a Pumpkin-Spice-Everything kind of person), it is October, and it's time to get on board with autumn. For me, the change of seasons always means a good closet clean out. No, I am not super organized; I just live in an antique house with only three (very small) closets. So regular closet purging is absolutely necessary. Painful, sure. But also necessary. And after any closet purge, I always take my (clean, in-excellent-condition, work-appropriate) donations to Dress for Success Boston. This time, I was so pleased that Lexus could help me out with my donation! Lexus gave me a $400 gift card to spend on brand new items for Dress for Success - you can see a snapchat of my shopping trip below (please excuse the mid-snap-music-break). A HUGE thank you to Lexus for letting me borrow their 2014 ES 300h and for donating so many amazing items to Dress for Success.

Lexus provided a $400 gift card to purchase items for Dress for Success Boston. They also provided me with a car - the amazing 2014 ES 300h - for the weekend. Lexus did not compensate me for this post.

    1. Amen to that! We all need to plan a fall get together (swap or no)!

  2. I'd be in on a swap, girl! Also, I have been taking some time lately to blog more about topics that resonate with the me that I am today, not the me that I was when I started blogging 5 years ago... you do what you do and your audience will appreciate your authenticity.

  3. I'm glad I came across Dress For Success through your blog. I've lived in Boston my entire life and had never heard about it. I'm going to have to look into that. As a fellow writer I applaud you for writing about makes you happy. It definitely shows when I read a post and the author is less than thrilled about the topic. I try to do the same on my blog.
