Posh or Pilgrim?

Yesterday I faced a fashion conundrum. I was going from work (business attire) to the Boston Globe's Style Party (fashion forward) to an interview for a board position (extremely conservative). What to wear? I chose this vintage dress. Knee length, conservative color and cut, but still chic. I really thought I had nailed it - until I saw my outfit photos for the day. Now, I'm thinking this look is a little....puritan. Which, if I had to err, I'd choose to err on the restrained and discreet side, but still! What do you think? Is the look amazing or Amish?

By the way, Boston Globe - I noticed at your Style party, during which you unveiled your 25 Most Fashionable Bostonians, that not a single Boston fashion blogger was on the list. Seriously? Not even one? Check out my blog roll, Globe, it's a virtual A-List of the city's au courant. For shame! However...I loved the cute dancers at the party! These girls posed perfectly still for thirty minutes at a time, and would them randomly break it down for an occasional dance. Check them out here!

Dress: Vintage
Jacket: Target
Shoes: Melissa Plastic Dreams (similar)
Bracelet: c/o Ann Taylor
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

  2. I say posh! I agree about the Globe not selecting one blogger! Though I did like most of their selection :)

I noticed that too!! I was so excited to see the list, thinking some of the bloggers I follow must have been featured, but no such luck :( LOVE your vintage dress though, perfect choice.

  14. When I saw the list, I had the same thought. Disappointing, for sure.

I LOVE THIS DRESS. While it's a little modest, I think it's done in a fun way and it's not too literal.
