Feeling Sunny

Sun, glorious sun!  How nice was it to get a little Vitamin D over the weekend? After the wretched snow last week, a little sunlight made me feel like everything was growing. And when I feel like that, it is time to reach for the floral print. And dots. And stripes!

Okay, maybe I went a little pattern crazy. But it all seemed to work! I felt like a cheerful ray of sunshine in this outfit. It probably helped that I was wearing a necklace that I purchased on vacation in The Bahamas, so maybe I was feeling a little beachy? And that, my friends, is always better than the similar-sounding alternative :)

Skirt: Corey Lynn Calter, Mint Julep

Necklace: purchased on vacation in The Bahamas

hi, quick critique of your blog. less is more. 12 pictures of each outfit is just self indulgent and boring for your reader. Check out the Sartorialist. He captures the most stylish people in the world and RARELY posts more than one picture of each.

Ouch. A little harsh. Maybe there is substance to it - but soften the message Mr./Ms. Anonymous.

I like seeing a lot of pics when I look at outfit blogs, but I definitely want feedback other than my own :)

I've set up a poll to vote. I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks!!

I agree...I think I would like a little less pictures too; however, Anonymous, there is no need for your extra commentary. Sometimes with critiques...less is more. :)
Great blog Kristen! I love the mix of patterns today. I am always afraid to look like a crazy professor when it comes to mixing and matching. Thanks for the inspiration!

I actually prefer multiple photos as they help show the complete outfit.

  6. i like lots of photos, but i like it when they are varied. try adding some closeups of your jewelry and accessories to be a little less repetitive

also i love your skirt :)

Thanks, Brittany & Elaine! I actually have been attempting to do accessories shots, but think it's weird to just have a disemboweled head or arm or torso or something in the shot :) I'll keep trying though-other bloggers can find a way to make it look cute, so I can, too!

  8. Uek -- maybe experiement with three outfit shots. One front view, one side (to show shoe detail as previously mentioned) and then a third shot that is either a close-up/accessory detail or a variation on the outfit (i.e. open the jacket/sweater if applicable). Either way, I think all of your shots are fun and I do like that you don't just stand there but have motion to your shots. xoxo
