Rainy Day Woman

I couldn't believe it this morning when I turned on the news and saw the devastation in Japan. Tragedies like this can make me feel powerless; I want to offer assistance to those who so desperately need it, but what can one do from halfway around the world? Enter The Red Cross. Much like their campaign that raised over $32 million in assistance for Haiti, The Red Cross is running a text message campaign for those hit by today's earthquake and tsunami. To contribute, send the text REDCROSS to 90999 and $10 will be donated to the relief efforts.

It's a dreary day in the Hub, but Mr. Boston Fashionista and I managed to sneak out during a break in the rain for some photos...

On rainy days, it can sometimes be hard to get out of bed, much less dress like you are out of bed. Comfy clothes, like a chambray shirt and a fleece blazer can help, and a little bit of color can add some much needed brightness to the day.

I had never owned rain boots until I moved to Boston and started walking everywhere. I don't understand how I lived all that time without them - I guess I often had wet feet?!?! These boots are from Target and are quite the steal - and I love that they are printed with little anchors!

 Shirt: Forever 21
Skirt: Alice + Olivia
Fleece Blazer: Gap
Trench: Zara
Scarf: Tucker for Target (actually the belt from a Tucker for Target dress)
Boots: Target
Socks: Betsey Johnson

Thanks for all your help this week - I couldn't have gotten the blog started without you. Now that I have a tripod, you can come and watch and laugh whilst I take self-portraits...
