Oxblood and Green

This outfit is really just a mix of my two favorite colors this season - dark green and oxblood (or burgundy, as it used to be called before fashion-y people got into it). Also, can we talk about this blazer? Yep, it's a tweed jacket with cable knit ribbed sleeves. I discovered it on sale at Mint Julep and it sort of leaped into my arms and then into a bag. Hey, this is the kind of no-guilt purchase with which I can get on board - on sale and extremely wearable! I've already worn the blazer on the plane to/from (and all around) Copenhagen, with jeans and tees on the weekend, and over skirts and dresses at the office. Who doesn't love multi-purpose (and sweater sleeves)?

P.S. My pal Becky over at Pop and Circumstance put together a clever post using my outfits as interior design inspiration. Check it out!

  1. I'm pondering outfits for upcoming air travel (and also low-brow bachelorette shenanigans), and I find myself REALLY wishing I had kept those denim and black leggings...

Love love love the jacket, what a great find!

    1. Oh man - that's a packing conundrum! You want comfy and classy for the plane, and serious party gear for the above-mentioned shenanigans. Definitely pack your favorite blazer - you can wear it with jeans for the flight, and over your party dress if you need to warm up :)

  4. Very Boston Brahmin, my dear. I love the blazer - the knit sleeves look like they make it 1000% more comfortable.

  5. I love the way you've mixed so many textures in together too! I think adding textures really makes an outfit seem more luxe, but it also helps when combining different shades of one color - like you did with the tweed and skirt.

    You look great, again.
