Ms. Brightside

Of all of the trends this season, I like neon the best. As frequent readers of this blog know, I am a sucker for color, and neon is sort of color on steroids. OK, actually, neon is a noble gas (Ne) that is used mostly to make advertising signs. The name comes from the Greek word neos, which means "new". So maybe that is why neon colors feel so au courant, so contemporary?

Even though it is only 0.0018% of the earth's atmosphere, neon is actually the fourth most abundant element in the universe. Seriously! In honor of this fun fact, I declare the next four days as Neon Week. So let it be written. So let it be done. This means every day for the rest of the week, I'll be trying out different ways to wear neon, from the most efficacious look (like a full on neon dress), to subtle ways you can incorporate the new neon into your wardrobe.

I would like to tell you I remember where I got this dress, but there are no tags, and I have had it for years (did I inspire the trend, like The Blonde on Stylish Three?). Never fear, brights are so hot, you can find a whole color spectrum of dresses.
