C'est la mode? Bonne chance.

Why is the title of this post in French? Because I french-rolled my jeans. OH YES, I DID. Some of you may be more familiar with the terms "pinch rolling" or "pegging" your jeans. For those of you under twenty, you may have no idea what I am talking about (be glad). Let's just say that french-rolling your jeans hasn't been cool since Faith won Album of the Year.

So why, in this case of epic un-cool-ness, would I do such a thing?  I'm glad you asked. I was standing in front of my mirror and was mostly happy with my outfit. Bright (especially red) pants are in! Awesome bow tie necklace! But something wasn't quite right.  I couldn't place it. Something was just...off.  Honestly, I don't even know why I decided to french roll the jeans in the first place. Lord knows, I was rusty at the job. Fortunately for me, this was not my friend Haley's first time at the rodeo. She was oddly good at jean pegging, and she set me straight. And - I can't believe I am saying this - it worked!

Don't worry - I don't see this happening every day. Or, likely, ever again. But it is kind of fun that something that is so universally bad just seemed to be the one thing I needed to make my outfit look perfect (at least to me). How about you? Have you recently "brought back" a fad or worn something that most people really, really wouldn't?

It was brought to my attention today (by Daily Candy) that high waisted 80s mom jeans are back in style. Seeing as I had a baby this year and am still hanging onto the resulting muffin top, I am THRILLED about this. - Erin
