The Beat: Mondaine Collection with Sassoon Salon Boston

Sassoon Salon Boston

Sassoon Mondaine

There's something so cathartic and fresh feeling about a good cut and color, right? Myself, I've been nursing the winter doldrums, and staring down months of New England snow wasn't helping. I needed a pick-me-up, stat! Enter Sassoon Salon Boston and their Mondaine collection

As long time readers know, Sassoon puts out a hair "collection" twice a year, much like a fashion designer, to inspire and motivate both their clients and stylists. In the past, I've loved their angled bobs and honey blonde hues. The recent Mondaine collection celebrates individuality and was inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Advanced Style, which aims to "capture the sartorial savvy of the senior set", added with a modern touch of Balenciaga. As usual, the collection highlights movement and versatility, with cuts that can be worn in different ways.

I went for an update on my bob - going a little shorter and a little more blunt, with less angle. I'm loving the look, which can be parted on the side (above), down the middle, or even slicked back (very dramatic!). Talia, my brilliant colorist (visit her at Sassoon Salon on Newbury Street), took my color from a summer honey to an icier blonde.

If you're suffering from a little seasonal affective disorder or a case of the holiday blues, head over to Sassoon Salon Boston and get inspired by the Mondaine collection! Be sure to shoot me a photo of your fab new hair!
