One of the great things about TBF (for me) is that it gives me an outlet to discover and spotlight emerging fashion entrepreneurs. I've already written about Quincy-based designer Avra Myers and her line of chic, quintessential basics, A Ruby. A veteran of J.Jill and Club Monaco, Myers has a keen sense of how to make it easier for women to get dressed in the morning - namely, by filling a closet with impeccable, go-with-everything basics. While my favorite are A Ruby's leggings, I'm also partial to the small collection of easy outerwear. This polar fleece coat looks like Friday night, but feels like Sunday morning - perfect for November in New England!

I'm also a new fan of Claire Flowers - a designer out of St. Louis who decided it was high time to create a better stiletto. We all know that heels are hard for the Boston gal - since many of us walk or take the T to get around (on cobblestone streets, no less), we need a sturdy, comfortable shoe. Flowers created a functional design (think, wide-at-the-bottom heel that won't get stuck in grates, a non-slip sole) that's also built with luxe, buttery leather. It's a thoughtful approach to a somewhat intimidating style of shoe, making the stiletto simply easier for women to wear.

  1. Love that bag - was so surprised to see it was from Target... was totally expecting it to be MK or another brand like that. I'll definitely have to stop by Target this weekend with hopes that there is still one left!
