Every Boston girl has a little place they like to get away. Whether it's the Cape, the Berkshires or the North Shore, we know that, while Boston is "the Hub of the Universe", there are a lot of other great Massachusetts towns to explore! Recently my girl Christine and I spent a summer day in Newburyport, complete with yoga, shopping, and an al fresco lunch overlooking the harbor. Come to Newburyport for the breathtaking beach, stay for the unique boutiques, specialty shops and the eateries that rival Boston's Back Bay!

Newburyport Must-See:

Plum Island Beach - Simple. Breathtaking. Perfection.
Bobbles and Lace - One of my favorite destinations for affordable accessories. Their jewelry selection never disappoints!
Brine - Oysters, crudo, wine. I could spend all day here!
Riverside Yoga + Massage - Recently opened and oh-so-zen. Christine and I took the slow movement class, which was a perfect start to a Saturday morning. Let all those work-week tensions fade away...
Best of British - I am a tea junkie. This place has a tea bar. Enough said!
Bob Lobster - The best fried fish I've ever eaten, hands down. Also, ice cream. Sit outside at the picnic tables.
Valerie's Gallery - Small gallery overflowing with incredible local artists. A great place to find unique gifts!
Valentine's - Speaking of gifts, this place has everything. I picked up some crystal cocktail picks, and Christine couldn't keep her hands off a beautiful cashmere wrap.
Soak - Calling Soak "a soap store" does not do it justice. It's a unique, hands-on shop, that's expanding to include loungewear and other items to help you treat yourself.
Michael's Harborside - This place has everything: a killer view of the harbor, massive bloody marys, lobster pie....yes, lobster pie!

JACKET & SWEATER: CAbi (c/o), JEANS: J. Brand, SHOES: Sperry Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoe (c/o) SUNGLASSES: House of Harlow 1960 BAG: H. Stern for Diane von Furstenberg
