The souks of Marrakech are a winding labyrinth of light and shadow, fervored shopfronts and solitary alleys. Sound is everywhere: a cacophony of salesmen, donkeys, children, music and prayers. Through one door, I spy a kitten batting a tasseled toy camel. Through another, a line of vibrant leather slippers. Another, a woman in a silk headscarf grinds spices with a mortar and pestle. It's an overwhelming, but magical, sensory overload.
